Important Unit Selection Rules

  • A minimum of two units is required for the Certificate.
  • The selected units must meet the minimum 13-credit and 130-TQT-hour requirements.
  • Unit 608 cannot be selected as part of the Level 5 Certificate; it is available for the Level 5 Diploma or Extended Diploma.
  • Unit 502 cannot be combined with Units 503, 505, 511 or 526.
  • Unit 526 cannot be combined with Units 501 or 502.

The final unit combination should therefore be selected according to the Learner’s development needs while complying with the CMI rules of combination.

Future Progression

1. Progression to the CMI Level 5 Diploma

2. Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr)

Successful Learners completing CMI Level 5 qualifications in Management and Leadership may be eligible for Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr) status, subject to retaining CMI Membership.

3. Progression to CMI Level 6

4. Chartered Manager (CMgr)
